⭐️31.05.17- Quick Marsden Wednesday update⭐️...... After the most beautiful bank holiday in Devon with family, which was so precious (wish I could bottle it up forever) today we were back at our second home at the Marsden first thing. It was so brilliant to see Tara. No 1 as always. She is just a hero and also to have such a quality amount of time spent chatting with my amazing oncologist. On the whole, things have been niggly over the last week with sleeping issues, mouth problems, swallowing issues, weight loss, pelvic pain, liver pain, swelling, fatigue and a few other things here and there...but I felt confident drugs were working their magic and all was improving. Today we had the usual checks including bloods as well as a planning CT scan (yep I now have another 2 tattoos....I'm collecting 'planets from afar' all over my body!!) for radiotherapy on my pelvis next week. So we have that radiotherapy booked in which will hopefully help to ease pain in my hips and legs and enable me to walk less like the old monkey from the Lion King (although becoming quite attached to the groovy walking stick!)! Annoyingly my bloods have indicated that my liver function has deterioated so we are going to experiment a little more with the meds and hopefully find the right balance to try to improve this. Some exciting news is that as well as an enormous bag of drugs we got some Marsden wellies to wear whilst ticking off some bucket list adventures!!! AND to top it off...tomorrow we are heading to Hertfordshire for my best friend's wedding. I can NOT wait and I know the happiness and love the day will make me feel for them will make any pain or uncertainties disappear! #ejtandemonium #blog #loveconquersall #royalmarsden #letsbeatcancer #cancerawareness #cancerresearch #smileloveandbekind #bucketlist

I'm running 10 marathons (a little over 300000 strides by my reckoning!) in just under 2 months. Starting on February 24th 2018 with the Northumberland trail marathon and finishing with the London Marathon on April 22nd 2018 I will be running a combination of trail and road marathons (squeezing in the Marsden March in the middle too!) aiming to run London in less than 3 hours! Well - that's the plan anyway!! (Training is a fraction behind schedule!!) Sadly I won't be running with my Molly but she'll be at the finishing line waiting for me for an action photo - she does love a selfie! I am doing all this to raise money for the wonderful institution that is The Royal Marsden Hospital. They looked after my beautiful wife when she was diagnosed with incurable cancer from March 2016 until she passed away in June 2017. Fundraising for them feels almost inadequate after everything they did for us and continue to do for me now but I feel it is the very least i can do. Anyone wanting to read more about Emmy's story can do so by visiting www.mollivers.com. But in short she was the bravest, kindest and most inspiring and beautiful girl that you could ever hope to meet and it is with the greatest honour that I continue to raise money in her loving memory and for the incredible hospital that looked after her. I have to raise £2000 for my place in the London Marathon but i am hoping to raise much more than that so please give generously and let's see what we can do!! Jake's Marathon schedule! 1. Feb 24th - Northumberland trail marathon **March 4th - Marsden March** 2. March 11th - Cambridge Boundary Marathon 3. March 17th - Sussex trail marathon 4,5,6. March 23-25th - Jurassic trail ultra (3 marathons in 3 days!) 7. March 30th - Good Friday marathon in Milton Keynes 8. April 7th - Exmoor trail marathon 9. April 15th - Boston Marathon (Lincoln, UK) 10. April 22nd - The big one!!! - The London Marathon!!!! Thank you all so much in advance! Love you all! Wish me luck! ;) x #smileloveandbekind https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jakes300000steps
